T-shirts, posters, pins, a CD, and comic books will be produced as an educational tool to increase people's awareness and understanding about the issue of domestic violence and sexual harassment and the great deal of negative impacts on the family lives and the life of individuals which further impacts the peace and harmony and human development at the community and national level. With this production BWU aims to increase its attempts to bring awareness to the society through visual art performance.

In 2003, BWU published one thousand copies of Women and Domestic Violence Handbook which was well received by both men and women among the democratic movement organizations, migrant and refugee population. About 200 copies were sent inside Burma. Due to more demand from border areas as well as from inside Burma another 1,500 copies were reprinted to distribute, primarily aiming to inside Burma. Any naming of BWU and other democratic groups on the handbook in its first version, including the cover design were deleted and changed in the second printing in order to avoid the suspicion of military authorities in Burma and to ensure the safety of the people who will bring and use the books inside. In 2004, handbook on sexual harassment will also be published.

Although the domestic violence handbook has been well received and used as a resource material by many people and groups including the human rights educators, there is still a large number of the refugee and migrant population who are illiterate, or who are not keen to read, or people inside Burma who cannot have access to the publications.

In order to continue to increase the awareness of people on such important issues, especially of the most disenfranchised population such as people with illiteracy and those inside Burma, BWU will carry out an awareness raising campaign by printing and distributing T-shirts, posters and pins with messages about the impact of domestic violence and sexual harassment on the advancement of the status of women and sustainable development of the society as a whole. The organization will also produce CD on Domestic Violence and comic books on both issues.
