The BWU Young Women Political Empowerment Intensive Course Part (II)

This is a 6-month intensive training course aimed at educating young women already involved in the pro-democracy movement. The women accepted will have completed post-ten education, and be working in political organizations along the border. This course is unique in so far as it offers these women a chance to focus on the interplay between gender and politics on all levels of society, internationally as well as domestically, and provides a theoretical framework in which to perceive the Burma conflict. The theories taught will be related back to the women’s own experiences and the current political situation, and strategies on how to overcome the gender-barriers will be offered.
